• Comment to those looking at my sermons: You may see the outline as typed out, but rarely do I stick to them completely, the Lord promps me in different directions each day.
• Sermon or series that made a difference: A preacher friend Booby Thompson (The Eagle Preacher) was with us a few years ago and preached about helping one another. He said that in his years of study, if a eagle sees another eagle setting on the ground and not flying, they will drop in fresh meat to those setting still, so they can regain there strength and begin to fly out of the valley that they are in, and fly with the majesty they are called too.
• One of my favorite illustrations: Witness Protection Program. Right out of the FBI website, really awesome stuff and applyable to the saints today.
• What my parents think of my sermons: I hope they love them, I’m a second generation preacher, I hope they are proud of the work the Lord has called me to do, and that the Lord is proud of the small way I try to enlighten people of His Grace.
• What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: I have a great support from her, through it all.
• Best advice given to me about preaching: When poeple are not vocally in the sermon, you can see they are just litening, then you can plant some seed. It is not always the shouting and praising God that empowers the church. From Rev Joe Gillenwater Thanks Bro. Joe
• Books that have had an impact: I am a BIg fan of Warren Wiersbe and his "Be" series, and the series of NT books by John Phiilips. The Willmington’s Guide to the Bible I love to read. Anything by Witness Lee.
• Hobbies: I love to bowl, and I love to fellowship with the Saints. It has been a part of my youth, we were found at anothers house to wee hours of the morning. I can recall staying so long at someone’s house that the husband went to bed, he had to get up earliy in the morning, and when he did we were still there. I have a friend in Wales, and there is 6hrs. different from us, he and some friends were over, he called his wife and kids at home to wish them good night, and then called them from my house to tell them good morning. There is nothing better then fellowship among the brethern. And rolling a 300!
• What I want on my tombstone: Saved, Sanctifed, Justifed, and now Glorifed !
