About Joe
  • Education: Because I was interested in religious history, I independently studied with a professor for 9-years who taught me how to study to gather facts rather than what to study. Thirteen-years as a high-school age Sunday School teacher taught me more than the kids, who asked questions that had never been answered in my church experience, so the hard study began to find answers for them and me. Yes, I do have a college background as well.
  • Experience: After 9-years of independent study of religious history, 14-years in a well-educated writers group, 13-years as a Sunday School teacher and countless hours of study, plus multiple courses to be come a Certified Lay Speaker in the United Methodist Churches, but now I am being called elsewhere, and available.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: You won't see me preach toward a denomination. My focus is finding the truth in its purest form possible. If you use my material, I would love to hear from you.
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: Always on the Fourth Gospel. There are many others, including a study of David and anointing.
  • One of my favorite illustrations: ...don't have a favorite since there are too many
  • Family: Raised my son myself after the death of my wife.
  • What my parents think of my sermons: Don't know. My parents are both deceased.
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: Not married
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Tell a story, explain original meanings of important words and point to LOVE and TRUTH.
  • Books that have had an impact: Too many to list! However, I'm not afraid of any of them, including The Lost Years of Jesus, and the Holy Bible from the Ancient Eastern Text.
  • Hobbies: Writing, restoring classic cars (auto body, etc.), photography, travel, Harley riding, multicultural mentoring (16-years), writing song lyrics & music.
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: If what you hear does not point the way to love through truth, you're listening to the wrong person.
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: People couldn't stop laughing at one of the jokes--kept laughing as they left the building.
  • What I want on my tombstone: He did his best to live in Love through Truth.
