About JOHN
  • Education: John is a graduate of Mid-Continent College located in Mayfield, Kentucky. There he received his bachelors degree in Biblical Studies and Christian Education.
  • Experience: John has served as pastor for churches in both Kentucky and Illinois. He has spoken in churches throughout Missouri, Kentucky, Texas and Illinois.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: God’s Best To You!
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: John has enjoyed searching the depths of Old Testament wonder such as: The 10 Commandments and Nehemiah as well as Esther These areas as well as the life of David have all been great rewarding areas.
  • One of my favorite illustrations: To many to choose from
  • What my parents think of my sermons: Mom has never heard a better preacher then her son...surprise. Dad thinks I have quite an obvious knack for preaching... He might be a tad biased.
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: She has heard better and she has heard worse.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Have a heart gentle as a lamb and skin as tough as an elephant.
  • Books that have had an impact: The Apostolic Preaching of the Cross Leon Morris Joseph Alexander’s work on Psalms Alva J. McClain on Romans - The Gospel of God’s Grace
  • Hobbies: Some of John’s interest include writing, fishing, and spending time in the outdoors.
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: All that you are must be saturated with Jesus All that you own belongs to Him All that you need is Him
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: One Sunday morning in the closing portion of my message A good hearted southern gentleman who said a hearty amen to every other sentance the pastor said left the congregation in great laughter when the the pastor said "And I am gonna close with this third and final point." To which the gentleman gave a heart felt "Praise the Lord." The congregation roared with laughter....The man came forward durring the invitation to ask for forgiveness. :)
  • What I want on my tombstone: Gone To Be Totally With Jesus
