About Keith
  • Education: Doctor of Ministry, Jacksonville Baptist Theological Seminary
  • Experience: Senior Pastor, Jan 2006 to Present
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: I write almost every word I am going to say. I do not read my manuscripts, but I do have them with me in the pulpit for reference. This has been the most successful method for me through the years.
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: Ray Comfort "Hell’s Best Kept Secret" R.C. Sproul "Chosen By God" R.C. Sproul "The Holiness of God"
  • Family: Wife, Jennifer (Married August 1, 1999) Three children.
  • What my parents think of my sermons: My parents are a great source of encouragment for me.
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: My wife is a great source of encouragement to me.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Expository preaching is based on three principles: Read the text, interpret the text, apply the text. Thus, expository preaching is centered on the text.
  • Books that have had an impact: The Holiness of God, R.C. Sproul Chosen by God, R.C. Sproul The Potter's Freedom, James White The Forgotten Trinity, James White The Sovereignty of God, A.W. Pink
  • Hobbies: Spenidng time talking with my wife, reading, teaching karate at the church, working with kids and teenagers.
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: God is Sovereign, Holy, Just, Perfect, Righteous, and Love. I am imperfect, incomplete, unholy, unloving and a sinner. But by His grace He saved me, in while I was still a sinner Christ died for me. By faith imperfect men can become justified in God’s sight. "For by grace we have been saved though faith" (Eph 2:8)
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: I am a large man, and I love to kid around about my size. During an evening service (where our attendance is usualy smaller and more intimate) I kept bumping into a microphone stand used by the worship team. I finally said, "We might need a bigger stage" and one of my congregants said, "or maybe a smaller pastor!" If I didn’t have a sense of humor, and a knowledge of that person’s loving heart, I might have been crushed!
  • What I want on my tombstone: For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. Phillipians 1:21

Paul Washer is a powerful preacher and evangelist. He once had a seminary student send him a message. He was afraid that he was too bad to enter the ministry. He sent him a message that simply said, "I think I am too wicked to be in the ministry." And Paul Washer wrote him back and said, "You are ...read more

“My Ring” I like to use my wedding ring. It is a complete gold circle. It is without beginning and without ending. My ring is a continuous circle. If something so simple has no beginning and no ending, how mush easier should ...read more

“The Protection of the Bible” Martin Luther made this statement: “Mighty potentates have raged against this book, and sought to destroy and uproot it – Alexander the Great and princes of Egypt and Babylon, the monarchs of Persia, of Greece and of Rome, the Emperors Julius and Augustus – But have ...read more

Have you ever seen ‘Cops’, the television show? They run up to someone’s front door, and kick right through it. That is the same way we choose to proceed in life sometimes. Instead of allowing God to open doors for us, we choose to kick the doors down ourselves. But it is a lot harder to put a door ...read more
