About Kirk
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: I pray that they are a blessing to you and your ministry and can be of some use to you.
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: Jonathan Edwards: "Sinners In The Hands Of An Angry God" It had a major impact on my life as a high school teenager. It made me take a look at the real me for the first time in my life.
  • One of my favorite illustrations: Being out of the will of God is like leaving out of the front yard after your parents have told you to stay there... When you leave, you are not only out of their will, but you find yourself with no protection from danger...!
  • Family: I am Bi-Vocational Pastor originally from Omaha, Nebraska, my wife (of 20 years) serves as the Assistant Pastor. I have five children.
  • What my parents think of my sermons: Everytime they hear me, they look shocked like they can’t believe it’s me
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: She’s my biggest critic and my biggest fan. She also let’s me know if I’ve been up too long!
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: "Be instant in season and out of season... Make full proof of your ministry."
  • Books that have had an impact: "Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire," "Fresh Faith," and "Fresh Power" by Jim Cymbala
  • Hobbies: Composing, Computers, Bowling, & Spending time in the Word.
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: Jesus loves you in spite of... And He wants to save you from you sins right now!
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: When I first started preaching, I was at a Youth Day service and I was ending a message and the spirit was high. I turned and knocked over a glass of water that was on the edge of the podium and it all spilled on to the PA amp... Everybody in the pulpit started running trying to clean up the water so I wouldn’t get electrocuted... It was pretty embarrassing
  • What I want on my tombstone: Faithful Servant

This was an illustrated sermon. I was dressed as surgeon and had a table with a white sheet over it to represent an operating table. At the close I had members come up and leave their various issues and leave them on the operating table.

STAY UNDER THE KNIFE HEBREWS 4:12-13 (The Message) God means what he says. What he says goes. His powerful Word is sharp as a surgeon’s scalpel, cutting through everything, whether doubt or defense, laying us open to listen and obey. Nothing and no one is impervious to God’s Word. We can’t get ...read more

This was a prophetic message the Lord gave me as we prepared to close out 2008 (the outline was created after I preached the message). It examines how Hezekiah responded to the words of the prophet and how God was moved by his repsonse.

A DIVINE DELIVERANCE (The Prize of Persistence) ISAIAH 38:1-6 As we prepare to close out 2008, we need to understand that when you have relationship with the Lord, you’re able to go directly to Him concerning whatever “death” sentence life has afforded you.
