About Larry
  • Education: I have a Master of Theology degree from Andersonville Baptist Seminary in Camilla, GA. I should finish my Doctorate of Theology from Southwest Bible College and Seminary sometime in 2008/2009.
  • Experience: I have been pastoring Southern Baptist (SBC) churches for twenty-six years in the Southeastern United States. I have two Christian websites named Prophecy Forum with a monthly newsletter of 700 members. I have also authored one book entitled, Revelation: Prophetic Addresses to the Seven Churches.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: Most of my studies for the last twenty-five years have been in the field of eschatology or end-time studies. I also enjoy typology and dispensational perspectives. Therefore these sermons can also be used for studies or vice-versa.
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: The Parables of the Kingdom series in Matthew 13 - The parables show us the conditions that will exist during the course of this age while the King is absent. The seven churches show us the internal or inward view as God sees them; whereas, the seven parables show us the external or outward view of the church as man sees her. The parables of the kingdom of heaven represent professing Christianity (Christendom).
  • Family: My wife Diane is a social worker at a nursing home in the Southeastern United States.
  • What my parents think of my sermons: Both of my parents have passed away in the last four years, but they were very proud of their son.
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: My wife is my greatest supporter and has the ability to critique my sermons and give me the "bottom line" on what I need to do to improve the quality of my sermons.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: When all else fails, just simply "Preach the Word."
  • Books that have had an impact: Things To Come by J. Dwight Pentecost; The Millennial Kingdom by John Walvoord; Dispensational Truth by Clarence Larkin; Prophetic Mysteries Revealed by Lehman Strauss; Thru the Bible With J. Vernon McGee by J. Vernon McGee; The Bible Exposition Commentary by Warren W. Wiersbe Basic Theology by Charles C. Ryrie
  • Hobbies: My main hobbies are astronomy, exotic fish, guitar, chess, and some language study.

The way I usually clarify eternal security is by first explaining that there is a distinction between sonship and discipleship. Various reasons for the recent rioting have been offered; such as, multiculturalism, poverty, unemployment; but the Bible predicts that the spirit of lawlessness will undoubtedly increase as the closing stages of this dispensation draws near.

State Police Commissioner Ken Moroney said this past week that the recent riots had destroyed the festive season for the residents of Sydney, Australia’s largest city. The disturbances were described as some of the worst outbreaks in their history. Fierce gangs numbering up to 5000 young white men ...read more

Most students are eager to get into the action of Revelation as soon as possible. Therefore they tend to skip over chapters two and three in the Book of Revelation without realizing their importance. But the churches give us an almost inexhaustible storehouse of wisdom and knowledge. The seven ...read more
