About Martin
  • Education: B.A. Christian Ministry from Lincoln Christian College. MDiv Christian Theological Seminary, DMin Christian Theological Seminary
  • Experience: Part time youth ministry 1987-1989. Full time youth ministry 1989-1997. Full time minister 1997 - Present.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: Feel free to borrow any part of the sermon that speaks to you, no need to cite me as a source unless I cited someone else, in which case by all means cite them!
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: I love Tommy Barnett's sermon, "There is a Miracle in Your House!"
  • One of my favorite illustrations: The Ragman
  • Family: Happily married and blessed to have three wonderful sons and two delightful daughter-in-laws, and five grandchildren.
  • What my parents think of my sermons: "What a nice boy!"
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: Hmmm.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Always take time to greet people at the door as they leave.
  • Books that have had an impact: C.S. Lewis Mere Christianity.
  • Hobbies: Fishing, Reading, Golf
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: Jesus loves you and you need Jesus!
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: Once did a sermon playing on the theme of mission impossible entitled "The Mission IS Possible!," which opened with a tape recorder that starts smoking after message played. Unfortunately the fog machine over did it and the crowd could barely see me for the first few minutes of the sermon!
  • What I want on my tombstone: He loved God. He loved his family. He loved those who knew Jesus and he loved those who didn't.
