About Nick
  • Education: I began my education in the secular school system Spent two years at Northeastern University in Info Systems United Christian Faith Ministries - Discipleship Course Freedom Bible College & Seminary - Bmin
  • Experience: I have had the privildge to be involved in several areas of ministry. Worship Team, Youth Ministry, Adult Sunday School, Junior High Sunday School, Preaching, Sheperding God’s flock, Deacon of Outreach, Leading Small Groups, counseling and encouragement. And now Pastoring at Elm Street Baptist in Everett, MA.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: Like the disciples who walked with Jesus, I am an unschooled, ordinary man who loves the Lord and his Word. I hope that the messages that God has given me for the churches where I have preached will carry out the purpose in you that he intended. To God be the Glory!
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: Dan Dark - Not everything is as it appears Baptist Mens Conference (1993?)
  • One of my favorite illustrations: The fork in the casket! The best is yet to come!!
  • Family: I am a happily married man of 22 years to a beautiful woman of God. I have two children, Jade 14 and David 5. Amy and I came to faith in Christ almost 20 years ago. Jade gave her life to Christ about a year and half ago, and David is still learning!
  • What my parents think of my sermons: Unfortunately, my Mom and Dad never got to hear me preach. That would have been something I would treasure. Knowing both of them I believe that they would have been proud.
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: You would probably have to ask her to get an honest opinion, but for the most part she lets me know when it has passion and purpose and critiques me when it lacks power.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Rick Warren - Craft Your Message Make sure that there are spots in your sermon where you have the listeners apply what is being learned. Also...use verbs to denote action!
  • Books that have had an impact: The Purpose Driven Church (Rick Warren) Purpose Driven Youth Ministry (Rick Warren) This Present Darkness (Frank Peretti) God’s Warrior - The Apostle Paul (Frank Slaughter)
  • Hobbies: Playing guitar, losing golf balls in the woods or in the water!
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: The Lord will come like a thief in the night. Have oil in your lamps - be ready for the groom! What we see in this world is nothing compared to what we will share with our Lord in Heaven. Don’t waste your time chasing after worthless dreams. You will seek him and find him when you seek him with ALL your heart!
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: When I preached during the first week of my pastorate at Elm Street, I was sharing about vision and how if we do not have a vision our plans are in vain. All of a sudden, a light above the pulpit that had not worked right for years came on! I think it was a bad wire but it was as though God was confirming the message he had given me!
  • What I want on my tombstone: Why do you look for the living among the dead?

God calls us to bear fruit that will last. Sowing seed as in a garden will bear either good or bad (rotten) fruit. We must bear good seeds, to reap good fruit.

If we try to live the Christian life on a foundation other than that of Christ Jesus, we will not remain steadfast and committed to true Christian living. We will fail to bring God the glory.

A Solid Foundation Luke 6:46-49 The leaning tower of Pisa in Italy is going to fall. Scientists travel yearly to measure the building’s slow descent. They report that the 179-foot tower moves about one-twentieth of an inch per year, and is now 17 feet out of plumb. They estimate by the ...read more
