About Rick
  • Education: I was rebellious as a teenager, like so many are, and quit school when I was sixteen years old. But I got a clue, grew up and even took Berean through the university of The Assemblies of God out of Springfeild Missouri, and recived a ministers license through the Independent Assemblies Fellowship out of Oklahoma.
  • Experience: I took a ten month ministry course through my church in Arkansas before I moved to Kansas, and did some traveling with my pastor, have spoken at men’s ministry meetings, preached from the pulpit, worked with a singles group, taught Sunday school, have written and directed church dramas and have met and had some great experiences with men and ministries such as Benny Hinn, Dr. Rodney Howard-Browne, Joyce Meyer, Tommy Barnett and the Brownsville Revival in Pensacola Florida.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: What you see is what you get.
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: There has been so many I don’t know where to start!
  • One of my favorite illustrations: Can’t think of one in particular.
  • Family: My father left my mother and her four children almost as I was being born, the fourth and youngest in the family. My mother raised us alone while working full time in a garment factory for more than 30 years. I don’t think there’s another person alive that I respect more than my mother, because she gave her entire life toi her own children. We are a very close knit family, all of us born again, and me, "the preacher" of the bunch!
  • What my parents think of my sermons: My mother ALWAYS asks me what I think about something and brags about my preaching.
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: I’m not Married....yet!
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: I can’t remember!
  • Books that have had an impact: Good Morning Holy Spirit - Benny Hinn Waking the Dead - John Eldredge The Purpose Driven Life - Rick Warren Oswald Chambers
  • Hobbies: I like classic cars, good (decent) movies, traveling whenever possible, and attending really good spirit filled conferences!
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: Who knows...once I get going!
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: It wasn’t preaching, but I was playing "God" in a drama once with a full house and with a microphone that gave me a big deep booming voice, and I told a guy that I let into heaven "You the Man!" At least all the black people loved it!
  • What I want on my tombstone: "I’ll Be Back!"

Why do we sometimes wait for God to "punish" us if we mess up as Christians? We are not under the law any longer, but under grace. And sometimes it’s hard to remember that.

“For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law, but under grace. What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not! Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin ...read more

Mind Over Faith? “For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.” Romans 12:3 (NKJV) How many times are we more apt to pay attention to ...read more
