About Rob
  • Education: B.A. Rel. from Kingswood University. 2011. Diploma in Entertainment Administration
  • Experience: Youth Pastor, outreach co-ordinator. Young Adult Pastor Worship leader Youth/Congregational Assistant Pastor/Intern.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: Thank you for reading, I hope there's a nugget of truth in there that you can use and take hold of. I'm always open to suggestions and constructive critiques. I major on the majors and not on the minors, so I won't get into a doctrinal discussion, but would love to hear from pastors who have more experience than I.
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: Galatians and study through the book True-Faced. Not a Fan and God's at War by Kyle Idleman Fight by Craig Groeschel
  • One of my favorite illustrations: There are only two ways out of a whale. The first is obeying God and going back out the way you came in. The second. . .
  • Family: Married with two children and a Golden Doodle that looks like the lead singer from a bad 80's hair band.
  • What my parents think of my sermons: The first sermon my dad heard, made him sound like he beat me within an inch of my life . . . which was funny because in the illustration and in real life, I never did get spanked. It made him feel uncomfortable, but he was gracious. My father is quite proud as well as my mom. My mom listens to every sermon I record as does my mother in law. . . neither are Christians . . Yet . . .
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: She hears about them the week leading up and the week after, by the time I preach it, she could probably do it in her sleep. I think out loud and she is the best sounding board. Ever.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Don't be afraid to be yourself. Passion is what people want.
  • Books that have had an impact: Not A Fan - Kyle Idleman Homerun Life - Kevin Myers Crazy Love - Francis Chan
  • Hobbies: Hockey,Curling and playing music when ever I can.
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: Accept people for who they are. They were worth the same as you because Christ died for whosoever, not just Sally and Steven.
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: Had to use my laptop for notes, and in all my searching for a printer, the battery had worn down, when I went up to preach, my screen came on for about 5 seconds then shut off. I was on my own.
  • What I want on my tombstone: He tried and succeeded by God's grace.

Mother's day sermon based on Exodus 2:1-9. Moses' mother Jachobed

Scanning a crowd at a sporting event you see all sorts of things, very overweight men who are very underdressed, usually with a letter or a logo on their belly. You see people in costume, some that make sense, like a fan of the Minnesota Vikings dressed up as a Viking, and some that don’t ...read more
