About Sterling
  • Experience: Preaching since 2001
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: By all means, spend time with Jesus. Love Him. Follow Him. Enjoy Him. Regardless of how 'successful' you are deemed to be by the world or even by other believers, remember that your reward ONLY comes from Him. Even so, He IS our reward and inheritance. If you don't know Jesus, repent of your sin and follow Him. He is the only way to God and our only hope, and He is an amazing Son of God. Other than that, love Jesus. haha Be blessed, and feel free to send me a message!
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: Anything relating to purity, zeal for God, or compassion; Habakkuk is big on my list
  • One of my favorite illustrations: Cups of water illustration: 3 people have cups of water... 2 have cups of water, and a red drop of food coloring is put into each. 1 has a clean cup of water. The illustration should be in my Illustrations section. Main gist: Jesus can take our sinfulness and exchange them for His purity. 2 Corinthians 5:21. Pure beauty. May we ever increase in love for our King of Kings, Jesus.
  • What my parents think of my sermons: They are very supportive of my work in ministry and appreciate the applicability.
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: N/A
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Stay faithful to the text!
  • Books that have had an impact: Habakkuk, Acts, haha a few others outside of the canon
  • Hobbies: Bible, Basketball, DDR/ITG, Creative Evangelism
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: Repent, for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: I once said in a message that I know that Jesus could dunk over Michael Jordan...lol. Stick to the prep! hahaha One friend who I was dying to preach a message to showed up during the benediction. lol what timing...I actually did dismiss and preach the message again for him, so it worked out.
  • What I want on my tombstone: Well done, thou good and thou faithful servant

BEARING WITNESS In court, bearing witness is telling the truth about what you've seen and heard. John the Baptizer was doing the same about Jesus. If we witness, we can tell others about something the Lord has done in our lives, whether relating to Salvation or some other matter of His ...read more

Have you ever seen a Billy Mays commercial? He has unfortunately passed away, but he was known for endorsing a lot of products, always keeping a loud voice volume, and enthusiastically selling some of the most ridiculous items on the market. One of the items he endorses is called the Awesome ...read more

DROP EVERYTHING A child is doing his homework inside, and it's a bright and sunny day. The child's father runs in and says, "Son, drop EVERYTHING!
