About T.J.
  • Education: Associates Degree in Health Services Management, a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, and a Masters degree in Information Systems.
  • Experience: Youth Minister of Trinity Baptist Church, Wichita Falls, TX, from 2001 - 2004. I have previously pastored two churches in Alabama from Sep. 2005 through Jan. 2012 and am currently serving as the Senior Pastor of Living Faith Church in Millbrook, AL. Licensed to the Gospel Ministry, Feb 2003. Ordained to the Gospel Ministry, Dec 2005.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: I appreciate you taking the time to read them, and I pray they are a blessing to you. I am always looking for feedback and guidance, so please feel free as the Lord leads you. God is the author of it all, and I give credit where it is due. I am merely a student of His Word, so if these words can help you in your sermon preparation, please feel free to use them. God bless you!
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: The most impacting sermons to me are those preached by men who REFUSE to shy away from the truth of the Bible.
  • Family: Married to a spectacular and Godly woman and I'm the dad of three grown children.
  • What my parents think of my sermons: They have said they enjoyed them, and have downloaded several of them from the church website. If listening to my sermons because they want to hear me is a way to get the Gospel into their home, God is able to work in ALL things.
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: She is my measuring stick ... if my delivery stunk, she lets me know. She is also my accountability partner. I cannot preach on something and not live it. I am blessed by the Lord to have such a Godly woman standing with me in the ministry.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: "Preach because you love Jesus ... not because you love people." - Rev Jimmy L. Dillon, Jr.
  • Books that have had an impact: "Paul, a Man of Grace and Grit", "The Explicit Gospel", "Disciplines of a Godly Man", "My Heart’s Desire", "My Utmost for His Highest", "Secrets of the Secret Place", "90 Minutes in Heaven".
  • Hobbies: Camping, spending time on the lake, web programming, designing church web sites, and enjoying quiet family time at home.
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: As long as you are alive, it is never too late to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Today, you have an opportunity that you are not guaranteed to have tomorrow, won’t you guarantee yourself a spot in Heaven?
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: Our platform at church is about 5 inches high and more times than I can count I have nearly fallen over from backing up to it while preaching. :-)
  • What I want on my tombstone: Faithful servant of Jesus Christ, devoted husband and daddy. Not perfect, but blessed.

  • Living Faith Church - Benediction Service

    Contributed on Apr 9, 2018
    based on 1 rating

Our church's final service was held on April 8, 2018, and we discussed three critical things as we each look ahead to what God has for us next: 1) remember what God has done, 2) tell others of what God has done, and 3) imagine what God will do next.

Benediction Service 1 Chronicles 16:8-13 & 23-36 Benediction Service - Today, we celebrate our final church service here at Living Faith Church -- Last week, I said this would not be a funeral … and I meant it - We won’t have a funeral for three simple reasons: 1. Our Savior is more

  • Palm Sunday 2018

    Contributed on Mar 26, 2018

God has provided the way for us to escape sin (John 14:6), because He wants us to be with Him and none to perish (2 Peter 3:9). His desire is that we would worship Him and spend eternity with Him.

Palm Sunday - 2018 Luke 19:28-44 Introduction - The Easter story is not just about Easter morning, but a culmination of events -- Each event marches us closer to the promise, that death of a Savior; Christ - As we look to the Savior for a glorious HOPE of resurrection; we have trials -- more

  • Exodus, Part 7

    Contributed on Mar 21, 2018

Moses was calling Pharaoh to know God, to repent, to turn to God. Jesus offers us the same call today – to lead us to know the Father. Only He offers us chance to be forgiven and redeemed.

Exodus, Part 7 Exodus 7:14 – 10:29 Introduction - Exodus is an incredible study of God’s faithfulness to man -- It is also a great encouragement to see man’s ability to be faithful to God - Today we see God’s judgement upon a nation -- Lots to see; hang with me … critical that we see more

  • Exodus, Part 6

    Contributed on Mar 14, 2018

We can all obey and be willing to step out/up when God calls. We are not called to understand or know all the details – but we are called to GO and make disciples. Moses is a great example and encouragement of how to obey today.

Exodus, Part 6 Exodus 5:1 – 6:12 Introduction - Exodus is an incredible study of God’s faithfulness to man -- It is also a great encouragement to see man’s ability to be faithful to God - Today we see the first encounter between Moses and Pharaoh -- It is important for us to understand more

  • Exodus, Part 5

    Contributed on Mar 6, 2018

We are each called to be obedient … just as Moses (eventually) was. Imagine how much different life would be if we obeyed God? Prayerfully, we'll respond when He calls us as well.

Exodus, Part 5 Exodus 3:11 - 4:31 Introduction - Exodus is an incredible study of God's faithfulness to man -- It is also a great encouragement to see man's ability to be faithful to God - Last week we saw the call of Moses into the service of God -- Today, we'll see Moses's replies to more

  • Life's Challenges

    Contributed on Apr 18, 2017

Whenever I think about how difficult life is, I'm always reminded and encouraged by these two verses, especially this week. Imagine this: Jesus Christ, the King of Kings and God's only Son, who is about to be arrested and crucified for me ... prays for me. What if we treated one another like this more

  • Not Ordinary

    Contributed on Apr 18, 2017

When we describe our kitchen to other people we always talk about new appliances, or new counters, or even our new silverware. But, we never describe the wall color to someone. The reason is simple: it is ordinary. Everyone has it, it’s not worth mentioning, and so we don’t even consider more
