Comment to those looking at my sermons: pray for me, as I often apologize to my congregation and audiences that I fail miserably to give them what and how God gives the message to me
Sermon or series that made a difference: Too Many Firefighters, not enough Arsonists
One of my favorite illustrations: Elijah on Mt Carmel
Family: Married. Wife is in ministry also,a bishop with recorded christian artist with spiritual songs purchased globally. We have five grown children, and four grandchildren.
What my parents think of my sermons: Both are deceased, but my mother often enjoyed them and insisted that I file them, which I never did. You were right Mom.
What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: it depends on how often she is mentioned
Best advice given to me about preaching: To thine own self, be true
Books that have had an impact: The Wounded Healer, Troubling Biblical Waters
Hobbies: Reading, writing, watching old movies, and research.
If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: True ministry, if you really understand it, is the job that nobody really wanted initially. But he retirement and benefit package are out of this world.
Something funny that happened while preaching: Fan blew all my notes away
What I want on my tombstone: He did the best he could
