About Terry
  • Education: “Theological Training” – 83 credit hours with “Berean University” out of the “Assembly of God’s School” in Springfield, MO.
  • Experience: Walking with the Lord Jesus for twenty years. Fifteen years preaching the Word, and 6 years of studying forty hours weekly then writing down what the Lord feeds me. Messages that go out to 4,600 homes weekly. Raising money for ministries such as “Dave Roever and Ass.”, World Wide Pictures, and the Norton County Ministerial Alliance.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: Pray that the Lord will give you a powerful thirst and hunger for the Word of God. Know that much time is spent in prayerful study of God’s Word before these messages are preached or sent out in print.
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: “Girding Up the Local Church”
  • One of my favorite illustrations: Abraham Lincoln observing a slave auction. Standing on the auction block was a beautiful black woman. Abraham could tell that those bidding on her only wanted her as a play toy to satisfy the lust. Abraham out bid everyone, purchased this beautiful woman, and quickly set her free. Her response, she did not want her freedom, but wanted to become his bond-servant. Christ saw us in slavery to sin, the flesh, the world and the devil wanted us only for their satisfaction, yet Christ purchased us with the highest price and gives us the option to choose this day whom we will serve.
  • Family: A great Biblical help-mate, Bonnie (has brain cancer) – Four wonderful boys; Derek, is a gifted writer, Jared, studying medicine. Caleb, a very gifted athlete, and Josiah, very gifted in music.
  • What my parents think of my sermons: Mother-in-law loves them because all of my messages are birthed from God’s Word. Mother supports them.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: “Preach the Word” and do not let my focus be on what my criticizers say nor on the praises I get from people who are exposed to the ministry the Lord gave me, let my fear and trembling be before Him and only seek His praise.
  • Books that have had an impact: Truthfully – the Written Word of God. I did not learn how to read well until the Lord gave me a powerful thirst and hunger for the Word of God in October of 1987.
  • Hobbies: NONE – Wife with brain cancer, four boys, mother and mother-in-law with bad health, there isn’t any time. Just encouraging my boys in what the Lord is calling them to do and serving my wife, mother-in-law, and mother sacrificially are all the blessings I need outside of the Lord’s work.
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: Surrender, Not Commitment
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: Was speaking a message and praying that the Lord would really use this message to bring people into a real relationship with Christ Jesus. After the message a lady met me at the door and said, “At least you really look nice in your suit.”
  • What I want on my tombstone: “Surrendered to the Lord’s Will”

As long as the internet is the key tool used to communicate and there is world-wide awareness of tragic events, there will be that continued threat of ministries and outreaches taking advantage of people who have generous hearts.

Christians are called to address the issues of the day with the whole counsel of God’s Word. Their listeners must understand, “It is written” means “Thus says the Lord.”

It Is Written The Necessity of pointing to God’s Word There has been a trend in the past few years of very good speakers using their talent of communicating to win a crowd, rather than be obedient to God’s Word. They are falling to preach in a way which challenges hearers to make a decision to ...read more

The grieving of the Lord has its serious consequences. Christians who have a reverent fear of the Lord do not fall under God’s judgement, like the people we read about in the Genesis flood account or like Eli and King Saul did.

The Grieving of the Lord Consequences to Breaking God’s Heart The world view of God is a somewhere out there Deity, Whom has no feelings toward our lifestyles down here.
