About TJ
  • Education: Social Studies Education B.A. Northeastern State University Church Revitalization M.A. Southwestern College of Christian Ministiries
  • Experience: I am in my third church plant. Had a successful church plant in N.E. Oklahoma. Had over 75 steady attenders when I left in August of 2000. I started in Anchorage in Sept of 2000 and had 50 regular attendees and am now planting a new church in Mena Arkansas. I Have been on staff (usually as Minister of Music) of several churches including Assembly of God, Pentecostal Church of God and Word of Faith Churches. I am currently doing revivals throughout the U.S., Uganda, Africa and the Philippines.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: I do not in any way claim to be a great sermon writer. Most of the time I have an outline but rarely follow them to the end. My style is I have a great passion to share His Word. I want to see peoples eyes opened as I present His message with Passion. If I have passion I can really deliver a message. Its those sermons that you know you have to deliver for the sake of the people that get me. I make myself get out of ruts. If it was up to me I would preach on revival and renewal all the tim
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: Becoming intimate with God
  • One of my favorite illustrations: One of my favorite jokes: Is about a guy who has a parrot setting in front of his pet shop. This guy and his wife is passing by and the parrot says "Hey you sure are ugly and your wife is a bit too large." The guy goes in to the owner and threatens to sue him next time his bird says something like that to him and his wife. So the shop owner takes the bird and says "If that happens one more time I am going to turn you into a feather duster." The next day the same guy and his wife are walking
  • Family: Rhonda Tipton Triplets Colton, Faith, Rebekah
  • What my parents think of my sermons: Are you kidding me. I am the greatest preacher my mother has ever heard. LOL
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: Rhonda is my greatest critic. She keeps me in line and makes sure I watch my P’s and Q’s. In all seriousness she loves my preaching and she is my little prayer warrior while I preach. She probably doesnt hear much of what I say because of her interceding for me.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: If you cant say what you need to say in 30 to 40 minutes you dont have anything to say at all.
  • Books that have had an impact: Wow! Intercessory Prayer - Dutch Sheets, God Chasers & God Catchers - Tommy Tenney,
  • Hobbies: Fishing, Hunting, Camping, Traveling.
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: There has never been a time in my life that I regretted following after Christ. I am so thankful that He chose and called me to do what I love to do and that is to minister to people that need to know God and know that He loves them unconditional. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have endured the enemy and the taste of victory is sweet in my mouth.
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: Every time I preach it seems something funny happens. I can’t recall anything right now but if I do I will update this section.
  • What I want on my tombstone: Here is a man who had great passion for God
