  • Experience: I spent ten years in corporate sales before answering God’s call to preach. I have served churches in Indiana, Texas and Louisiana. I have preached revivals and led seminars in Ohio, Kentucky, Virginia, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas and Arkansas.

  • Family: Married to the former Suzanne Thompson of Amite, LA since June 1, 1985. Two children, Jason 16, and Rebecca 13.
  • What my parents think of my sermons: I’m the best preacher since Mom’s dad of course.
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: She loves almost everything I preach.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Stand up, speak up, sit down, shut up. JAmes T. Harris, Sr. (my maternal grandfather, a great UMC preacher of days past.
  • Books that have had an impact: "Practicing the Presence of God" by Brother Lawrence "John Wesley’s Journals "Surprised by the Power of the Spirit" Author???
  • Hobbies: Golf, Hunting, Fishing and spending time with my family.
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: Love God with heart, soul, mind and strength and live your neighbor as yourself.
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: I brought the wrong manuscript with me into the pulpit.
  • What I want on my tombstone: Good father, husband, friend and lover of God.
