  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: the people that you and I preach to are not our pocketbooks, our welcome matts, our listening audience or our children that need to be corrected. they are not ours at all. They are blood baught, preciouse property of the King of all Kings and they are there because they have a devil to fight, a world to overcome, a flesh to stomp out and a God to serve. May we always be willing to lead and to feed as God has called us to do. bless you in your preaching.
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: Jim Maxwells series on the soul of man Howard richardson’s series on Fasting David lyons sermon on God speaking through modern day events T.d. Jakes man power conference (new orleans and Dallas) Willie George Pastors conference Wille George youth pastors conference Willie George childrens pastors conference
  • Family: my Bride( Leanna ) has put up with me for 14 years so far and she co-pastors our church. Meagan is 16 Benjamin is 12 Luke is 9 Rheme is 9. Luke and Rhema are twins
  • What my parents think of my sermons: they think im crazy ( thats not really a spiritual thing, it’s more from experience )
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: She thinks Im cool ( pray for her )
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: "Preach from your overflow" in other words preach what God is speaking to you. "Preach a ballanced word." proverbs 3:3 says let not mercy and truth forsake you "Dont preach at problems in the church, preach life"
  • Books that have had an impact: Fox’s book of martyrs "The Body" by chuck colson "a Pilgrim" arthur blessit "The signature of God" Grant Jeffry "when Christ comes" Max lucado "number in scripture" E.W. Bullinger "Fresh Fire" Maurio Murillo "she said yes" Benall "Maximize the moment" TD Jakes "In chains for Christ" Richard Wormbrandt
  • Hobbies: writting (songs and books) guitar, bass, drums, singing, eating, causing trouble.
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: Love God and love one another.
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: something funny tends to happen every time I preach becuae i’m a big dummy. God uses me in a great way but it is not near as much because of me as much as it is inspite of me. another reason why funny things tend to happen while I preach is because of the people I tend to preach to. Open Door is an outreach church that deals with very unchurched people as well as long term Jesus freaks.
  • What I want on my tombstone: He made a great difference and he outlived his critics

The timing of ministry is just as important as the actual ministry itself. The term Golden hour is used my emergency workers to refer to the small window of opportunity they have to make a difference in saving someone’s life.

"The Golden Hour" "There are a small group of people around the world in civilized countries that serve the public day in and day out and perform their duties, sometimes uncompensated, without reservation to all injured and sick people!" The term "Jump the shark" is a pop culture term that means to do something that causes the eventual ruin of that same something. Like the point when a good Tv series goes bad. this is about how to avoid "jumping the shark" in our walks with God.

JUMP THE SHARK Sometimes new terms come into modern pop culture that catch us guard. I remember the first time I hear “You da bomb”. Party animal for somebody that lives for getting drunk. You da bomb for somebody you actually like. Back before bad meant tough or dangerous it ...read more
