About Walter
  • Education: I received my Associates degree from Arlington Bible College in Woodlawn, Maryland and I received my Bachelors degree from Chesapeake Bible Seminary in Ridgley Maryland.
  • Experience: I am former Associate Pastor of Grace Memorial Baptist Church and current Pastor of New Life Church.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: Don't take me too seriously. I get sermon ideas from all over the place and all sermon content is Holy Spirit driven and He should receive the glory.
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: Anything subject or sermon dealing with end times.
  • One of my favorite illustrations: There is an old story about a little boy who found a bird in the woods and put it in a box and carried it around and someone asked him what he planned to do with the bird and he said he was going to play with it and deal with it until he got tired and then he was going to kill it. The same story is told only using Satan as the boy and us as the bird only to have Jesus say that He is willing to take us, damaged as we are and keep us and save us and treasure us.
  • Family: Currently married for 27 years. We have 2 children and two amazing grand-children.
  • What my parents think of my sermons: They think I'm the best son in the whole entire world and am awfully proud and thankful that I finally surrendered.
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: She enjoys them as long as I don't think too highly of myself. She is the person who REALLY tell me how the sermon was.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Know your audience and never preach above anyone's level.
  • Books that have had an impact: Left Behind series by Tim LaHay and Jerry Jenkins
  • Hobbies: Reading when free time allows. Love to do handy-man jobs around the house when my wife allows.
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: Make sure your election is sure and your salvation is sound.
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: I use to have this usher that sat at the door that was pretty much close to the pulpit and he often would doze during service. One worship day he was close to sleep as I introduced my sermon title: The Danger of Falling Asleep in Church, and he nearly fell of the chair and it took me a long while to stop laughing and continue the sermon.
  • What I want on my tombstone: To Whom Much Is Given, Much Is Required
