Sometimes The People We Know The Best Are The ...

Sometimes the people we know the best are the ones we treat the worst. One time a lifeguard was asked, "How do you teach a girl how to swim?" He said, "The first thing I would do is to take her to the edge of the pool and have her watch the water as it goes back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. All this time I would assure her that everything is okay, I’m going to take care of her. She has nothing to fear. Then I’d have her put her big toe in and just stand there and watch the water as it goes back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. I’d assure her that everything is okay, I’m there, I’m going to take care of her. She has nothing to fear. Then I would have her put her ankle in then pull it out and stand there and watch the water as it goes back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. All this time I’d assure her that everything is okay, I’m there, I’m going to take care of her. She has nothing to fear. Then I’d have her to step in as far as her knees then, of course, have her come right back out. Then I’d have her stand there and watch the water as it goes back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. All this time I’d assure her that everything is okay, I’m there, I’m going to take care of her. She has nothing to fear. And after he’d gone through about a half hour of explaining how he’d teach a girl how to swim, someone said, "What if that girl was your little sister?" He said, "Oh, in that case, I’d just take her to the edge and push her in."
