The Christian will almost always end his prayer with the phrase, "In Jesus' Name. Amen." Why do we do this? Well, in and of ourselves we have nothing to bring to God that is acceptable in his sight. It is always tainted with the filth of our sin. But, when we bring our supplications to God in the name of the one mediator between God and man, Jesus Christ, our prayers are acceptable. They are accepted not because of us, but because of whom the prayers are prayed through, Jesus Christ. This means that whether we pray with vigor or with weariness, our prayers are accepted by God when they are prayed through Christ. Encourage your congregation with this truth this upcoming Lord's Day.
