We went out to eat the other night at Provinos and I ordered an Italian dish that was absolutely delicious, Cannelloni Genovese (pasta stuffed with ground veal, spinach, cheese, rosatella sauce and baked). It tasted so good that whenever I go back I’m ordering it again! There’s nothing like food that tastes good and leaves you wanting more.

Because of the hope found in Christ, guaranteed by his resurrection, we believers have tasted the goodness of the Lord. The apostle Peter speaks of that in his letter. The same Peter who had denied Christ three times and been restored and forgiven by Jesus after the resurrection. He had truly personally experienced the goodness of the Lord. So now, Peter continues in his letter to share with Christian believers practical advice on what it means to live (or how not to live) our new life in Christ. Since we have received God’s gracious gift, now what? How should we live?

1 Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind. 2 Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, 3 now that you have tasted that the Lord is good. - 1 Peter 2:1-3
