Cuentan Que Un Alpinista, Desesperado Por ...

Cuentan que un alpinista, desesperado por conquistar el Aconcagua (de casi 7000 metros de altura, y cubierto en su mayoría de nieve) inició su travesía después de muchos años de preparación. Pero quería la gloria para él solo, así que emprendió la aventura sin compañeros.
Empezó a subir, y se le fue haciendo tarde, y más tarde. Lejos de prepararse para acampar, siguió subiendo, decidido a llegar a la cima.
No tardó mucho en oscurecer. La noche cayó con gran pesadez en la altura de la montaña, ya no se podía ver absolutamente nada. Todo era negro, nada de visibilidad, no había luna y las estrellas eran cubiertas por las nubes.
Fue entonces que, subiendo por un acantilado (a sólo cien metros de la cima), se resbaló y se desplomó hacia el vacío por los aires. Caía a una velocidad vertiginosa, lo único que podía ver eran veloces manchas más oscuras que pasaban en la misma oscuridad, y todo lo que podía sentir era la terrible sensación de ser succionado por la gravedad.
Seguía cayendo... y, en esos angustiantes momentos, le pasaron por su mente todos los momentos de su vida, los gratos y los no tan gratos. Él pensaba que iba a morir... sin embargo, de repente, sintió un tirón muy fuerte que casi lo parte en dos.
Sí... como todo alpinista experimentado, había clavado estacas de seguridad con candados a una larguísima soga que lo amarraba de la cintura. En esos momentos de quietud, suspendido en el aire, no pudo más que gritar:
- ¡Ayúdame, Dios mío...!
Y de golpe, lo inesperado. Una voz grave y profunda surgió de los cielos para responderle:
- ¿Qué quieres que haga, hijo mío?
- ¡Sálvame, Dios mío!
- ¿Realmente crees que te pueda salvar?
- Por supuesto, Señor...
- Entonces, corta la cuerda que te sostiene.
Hubo un momento de silencio y quietud. El hombre se aferró más a la cuerda y reflexionó...
cuentan que el equipo de rescate que fue a buscarlo se sorprendió al encontrarlo colgado, congelado, muerto, agarradas con fuerza las manos a una cuerda... a tan sólo dos metros del suelo.
