Take A Break: The World health Organization reports that by ’20 clinical depression is expected to outrank cancer and follow only heart disease in causes of death and disability worldwide. 28% of U.S. adults feel overworked or overwhelmed by work often or very often. These feelings take a toll on home and work lives. When we are overwhelmed, we experience conflict between work and home life and feel less success in relationships. The more overworked we are the more likely we won’t take proper care of ourselves, will lose sleep, and have poorer health and higher stress levels. These kinds of changes can help: working a schedule closer to the hours and days you prefer, don’t interrupt others or let yourself be interrupted; limit multitasking to a reasonable level; create a more supportive and flexible work environment; work to improve the quality of jobs; set reasonable limits on using technology during non-work hours; vacation; take care of your health; and set aside time for those outside of work who are important to you and encourage the same of co-workers.
