Evangelical Christianity Is Flourishing In Europe. France has witnessed an 8-fold increase in Evangelical Christians during the past 50 years, from roughly 50,000 to 400,000. Evangelicals represent less than 2% of the European population. Growth is particularly strong among immigrants from Africa, Asia, and Latin America. At the same time traditional Protestant and Roman Catholic churches have a hard time drawing new members, particularly young people. (Voice of America 7/24/06)
