Mary Crowley lived in the 1930s – the time of the Great Depression. Her husband left her with a young daughter to raise. Nobody told Mary she couldn’t get a job during the Depression, so she went out and got one. In time she founded a very successful company called Home Interiors and Gifts, and became a board member of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. In founding the company she accomplished three things: an income for herself, jobs to a lot of women who needed to earn money, and a sense of significance for women who had no confidence and no sense of self-worth.

Mary Crowley called on them to grow into the people they were capable of becoming. Her slogan was, “Think mink Don’t think rabbit, fox or squirrel. Think Mink” And she inspired them, led them to new heights of accomplishment.
