A Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, and an unassuming man all arrived at the gates of Heaven. First the Republican spoke to St Peter, “I am sure am glad I made it here, I was sure to give plenty of money to the poor.” St Peter replied, sorry sir, your name is not in the book. Then the Democrat smiled and then said, “Well, I was a great warrior for social justice, stood up for those with no voice.” St. Peter said, “Sorry sir, your name is not in the book.” Then the Libertarian looked at both them with a smile and said, “St. Peter, I know my name is in the book. I caused no harm to anyone and allowed each person to make their own decision with their life.” Again St. Peter said, “Sorry sir, your name is not in the book.” Then the unassuming man walked up to St. Peter, quietly said his name and St. Peter welcomed him to Heaven and he walked in the gates. At this all 3, the Republican, Democrat, and Libertarian, walked up to St Peter and with indignation said, “Who was he? What makes him so special? Why him and not us?” St. Peter said, “That little man’s name is unimportant. What is important is that he had his priorities right. You see, he was not rich, not powerful, and chose to focus on serving Jesus to receive a crown of life that would not perish in place of spending so much time to receive praise from men, money, power, influence, and an earthly crown that will perish.”
