I read the story of a young Englishman named George Atley. While serving as a missionary years ago in Central Africa he was attacked by a party of natives. He had with him a Winchester repeating rifle with ten loaded chambers. He could have easily killed them and driven them back. But as they approached he evaluated the situation. He concluded that if killed them it would do the mission more harm than if he allowed them to take his life. So then and there he sacrificed himself for the work of the Lord. When his body was found in the stream, his rifle was still loaded with the ten rounds.
