eHarmony.com founded by Christian author and marriage counselor psychologist Dr. Neil Clark led the Internet personals category in new subscriptions by grabbing nearly 38% of total U.S. subscription sales generated by the top 12 dating sites, reports comScore. eHarmony’s radio and television ad campaign ($10 million last year) sets them apart in the $450 million U.S. Web personals industry. The 4-year-old dating site has 4 million members and 3,000 confirmed weddings. Membership, which runs nearly $100 for three months or almost $250 for a year, is about 2 1/2 times that of rival services. (USA Today 6/2/04)
