Red States And Blue States really differ when it comes to marriage reports the Census Bureau. Generally, men and women in the Northeast marry later than those in Midwest, West or South. In the Northeast the median age of first marriage is 29 for men and 27 for women, about 4 years later than other regions. States in the Northeast and the West generally had a higher percentage of unmarried-partner households than those in the South.
