One particular unique feature really stood out to me. Overlooking the shore, along the Promenade sit park benches. They dot the whole stretch. They have various inscriptions on them primarily dedicated in memory of loved ones. Like inert sentinels they seem to be they rest there, unmoved, looking out to sea. I think they’re protecting something. I think it’s the peace.

The inscriptions are touching. Here are the inscriptions of four. “[To] MOM MOM SANDY WRIGHT CARTLEDGE WHO LOVED THE PEACE OF THE SHORE” and, “SIT AND REMEMBER ANTHONY AND FLORENCE SANTORO & LOUIS TROILO” and, “GRAMMIES BEACH - YOU NEVER REALLY LEAVE A PLACE YOU LOVE” and my favorite, “ROSE T. PESTRITTO- MOM, LIKE THE SEA OUR LOVE IS UNENDING”.
