The Market for Gifts and home decorative accents hit $65.2 billion in ’07. The gift market grew at a compound annual rate of 14.7% from ’02 to ’07, while home decor rose 9.4%. Change is the norm. Unity Marketing’s Pam Danziger notes, “What was hot 5 years ago has gone frigidly cold. And what is hot today was barely measurable 5 years ago.” The key for success in the giftware market is to continually offer new, distinctly different products to consumers hungry for new, unique and different product concepts.
