MINISTER THE WORD

There are valid ministries which are pleasing to the Lord such as, missions, youth ministries, local church services and ministerial alliances. However, there are two ministries that are often set on the back burner. The ministry of truly preaching the whole council of God's Word and that of ministering to the needy are often half-heartedly done because of the lack of Holy Spirit illumination.

When knowledge about the Word of God is gained like knowledge is achieved about the things in this world, ministry that feeds the soul (Matthew 4:4) and touches very heart of God (James 1:27) is not fully enjoyed.

Jesus said, "It is written: `Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'" (Matthew 4:4) The Apostle Paul wrote, "In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of His appearing and His kingdom, I give you this charge: Preach the Word..." (2 Timothy 4:1)

Ministry of the Word is teaching that is birthed forth, sustained and guided by the written Word of God.

Here is a Word written through the anointing of the Holy Spirit, sent to a family suffering the affliction of brain cancer, "Greetings in the name of the Lord! I am writing to let you know that you are in my... prayers. During these difficult times we are reminded what Scripture tells us about the outward man perishing but the inward being renewed day by day.
