MAKING A DENT IN THE UNIVERSE

When Apple founder Steve Jobs died, there were many posts on various websites about his spirituality (Jobs was Buddhist). One cartoon depicted him at the Pearly Gates while Saint Peter fumbles through the Book of Life. Steve, holding an I-Something, says, "I have an app for that!"

Cute? Yes. Nice sentiment? Yes. But does it fit with the proclamation of Jesus that He is the only way to the Father (John 14:6)? No.

So how can Christians help the non-Christian world (which is larger than ever) see the importance of Jesus Christ, especially when such a brilliant, likable man dies? Fellow minister Burt Brock said it well:

"I agree that Steven Jobs made an impact upon the world and my sympathies are with his family and friends - but oh how I wish someone would say that Jesus made an even bigger impact on the world- one you can’t even compare with Steven Jobs. Technology is one thing
