A family gathered around the table for a meal on New Years' Day. A little boy of five asked his father, "Dad, what happened to the previous year?"
The father said, "It is gone."
"Where?" the boy asked.
"Nowhere. It has just grown old," the father answered.
"I want to see its grandchildren."
"They are gone, too."
The boy said, "Funny, it took everything with it."
