After a battle in the Civil War, a chaplain came to see a dying man. The chaplain took the soldier's hand and asked, "Brother, what can I do for you?" The soldier replied, "Chaplain, I want you to kneel down and return thanks to God for me." "Thanks for what?" asked the Chaplain. The man continued, "Thank him for giving me such a good mother. Through her teachings and influence, I am a Christian. What would I do now if I was not a believer? And, thank him for a home in glory. I will soon be there to wait for and welcome my mother."
