Grace At Bat
I read this week about a baseball game that one day took place. It seems that the Lord’s team was playing Satan’s team. The Lord’s team was at bat, the score was zero to zero, and it was in the bottom of the 9th inning with two outs. The Coach and the Lord stood by observing the game.

The boy stood defiantly. “Go ahead, give it to me.”
The principal looked at the young rebel and asked, “How many times have you been here?”
The child sneered rebelliously, “Apparently not enough.”
“And you have been punished each time?” the principal responded.

Grace - an illustration of the effect of grace.
By grace, Jesus took our place on the cross, enduring what he didn’t have to, so that we could have a relationship with our father. As an illustration of this, there is a scene in the Hugh Grant movie ’About A Boy’. Towards the end of the movie,

Spurgeon illustrated grace with this story in his book, All of Grace. A man visited a woman he knew to be in great financial need. He visited with a generous gift to help her with her expenses. He knocked at the door. She heard the knock, panicked and hid so no one would know she

Grace or Permission?
You're worried about permissiveness—about the way the preaching of grace seems to say it's okay to do all kinds of terrible things as long as you just walk in afterward and take the free gift of God's forgiveness.
While you and I may be worried about seeming to give

GRACE WAS "CHOPPED"
I was watching "Chopped" on Food Network. It was down to two chefs. Chef A had prepared the best appetizer and entrée. Now it was time for dessert -- his dish did not get plated quite on time.
One of the judges asked his competitor, Chef B, if they could taste his

Cinderella’s castle at Disneyland was packed with kids and parents. Suddenly - all the children rushed to one side. It’s a good thing it was a castle and not a boat, or it would have tipped over. The pristine princess had entered the room. Cinderella. A gorgeous young girl with

Definition of Grace
Today, we’re going to talk about another confusing church word - GRACE. If you ask a child what grace is, you might hear him say, "Grace is what we say before we eat." And that’s true. We do call that prayer before we eat "grace." But for many, that’s about as far as the

Last week I went for a walk and I saw a beautiful rock under a small waterfall, it was continually cleansed. My friend found a rock, but his rock wasn't found under a waterfall, and it's not as pretty and as smooth.
