I mentioned at the beginning that sometimes these passages relate to other passages in the future. I believe in this passage of 2 Samuel 9, we have a picture of how God treats us in His grace.

This idea of peace is not found just once, but several times in Scripture. Peace comes through thanksgiving. Peace comes through knowing our identity in Christ. And peace comes through following our God-given purpose.

We as Christians, need to be people that are grounded in love as it is expressed all throughout Scripture. We need to know the source of love and what it means in our lives.

Do you know what? We do the same thing. We say the same erroneous things to ourselves that the Jews did and we do not even realize it. We need to be grounded in truth with ourselves and with God.
