Prayer needs to be the primary way we encounter God and grow in our relationship with Him. Jesus modeled and taught on prayer, particularly through the model of “The Lord’s Prayer.”
Last week I shared our need to get connected to God, the only way to experience an abundant, fruitful life is to get connected to God. We get connected to God through Jesus. 2. Seeking God's Heart - Lord's Prayer Week 2

Our prayer life must begin with our relationship with our heavenly Father. God wants us to spend time in his presence even before anything else so we can know his heart. Only afterward should we pray for our needs and the needs of others.
Last week we looked at how prayer is one of the primary ways in which we stay connected to God, or the way Jesus said it, to abide in him, or to be in a relationship with God. After entering into relationship with God in prayer we must honor God for who he is and what he has done. We honor God through praise of his name, and our actions.

When praying for God’s will and kingdom to come, we are actually asking God to use us. We submit to his authority.
When we look at Jesus’ ministry, particularly from the gospel of Luke, we find one of the single most important practices in Jesus’ life was prayer.
