The first petition of the Lord’s Prayer encourages us to enter into God’s presence with the boldness of children approaching their loving parents. It also reminds us that our lives are instruments of God’s holiness.

When we pray, we know that our prayers will be answered because of who God is, not because of who we are. We affirm our faith with the word, "Amen," which means "it shall be done!"
