Jesus is not an idea or concept, but a man Peter knew, the Son of God through the Spirit, and the Messiah. Through Jesus, we are adopted as children of God, and filled with the Spirit as Jesus was.

Is forgiveness of sins the greatest need of a paralyzed man? Yes! It’s our greatest need too, and the greatest need of others we know. Since only God can forgive sins against him, Jesus claimed the authority of God.
