Advent is about preparing for the arrival of Jesus. One couple in the bible was charged with the task of preparing for God’s arrival. But it meant they would begin again.

Jesus comes in the wilderness of our lives. He makes a way where there seems to be no way. And that is where his followers are called to be: in the "wild-ness" and brokenness of people’s lives showing the love and mercy of God.

Joseph had to learn that what God thinks of him was more important than what others thought of him. It was more important than his reputation. It gave him a new identity.
