Grace refers to God lavishing us with free gifts, His undeserved and unearned favor. His gifts include salvation, forgiveness of sins, endurance, strengthening and encouragement, the virtues he develops in us, and a host of other gracious gifts.

The concept that we are saved by grace alone through faith alone is a solidly Biblical teaching. Last week, we looked at grace, this week we will examine the idea of faith alone. Both grace and faith are exclusive and must stand alone.

God saves us by His grace alone, that grace is activated by faith alone, and that faith is directed toward the Person and work of Jesus Christ alone.

Solo Deo Gloria — to the glory of God alone — means that the entire process of salvation — and creation, for that matter — has as its goal glorifying God.
