Titus ministered in an area where the culture influenced the Christian community with immorality, independence, and idleness. These same character traits exist in our culture as well - placing Christians on opposite sides when they don’t need to be.

We fight so much for individual rights that we forget that our behavior is being watched by others - and can make a difference whether they come to Christ or not. So being free in Christ means freedom to say "no" to things we can do.

Christians are more and more known for what we are against than what we are for. This confuses people about what the gospel is really about. Paul gives some very practical advice on how to be practically spiritual in an unsaved world.
