Summary: In Life God entrust things to us, Time, Talent and Treasure and as good stewart's he wants us to use them for His Honor and Glory.

Choosing Life Not Death Part 2

Last week we went over the importance of knowing that God is a good God, is that He is #1 for us.

Romans 8:31-32 (NKJV)

31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?

Just having this attitude as you go through life, will make life 100% better.

Romans 8:31-32 (MSG)

31 So, what do you think? With God on our side like this, how can we lose?

32 If God didn't hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing himself to the worst by sending his own Son, is there anything else he wouldn't gladly and freely do for us?

So when the Adversary comes with thoughts like you’re no good, you’re not holy enough to receive from God, Remind him that it wasn’t you who decided to make you a new creation, but God and that he can go talk to him.

2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV)

17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Romans 8:1 (NKJV)

1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

Romans 8:1 (WuestNT)

1 Therefore, now, there is not even one bit of condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus,

Deuteronomy 30:19 (NKJV)

19 I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live;

As good Stewards, when we put God first in our lives, it’s truly amazing how things just seem to come together.

Stewardship > the management of my God-given resources for His glory, and the good of others. The use of our time, talent and treasure wisely for His glory.

Jeremiah 17:5-8 (NKJV)

5 Thus says the LORD: "Cursed is the man who trusts in man And makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the LORD.

6 For he shall be like a shrub in the desert, And shall not see when good comes, But shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, In a salt land which is not inhabited.

7 "Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, And whose hope is the LORD. 8 For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, Which spreads out its roots by the river, And will not fear when heat comes; But its leaf will be green, And will not be anxious in the year of drought, Nor will cease from yielding fruit.

Here we see the man that puts his trust in man and the one who puts his trust in God.

V/ 5-6 > Trust in man: For he shall be like a shrub in the desert.

V/ 7-8> Trust in God: For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters.

This reminds me of one of my favorite psalms.

Psalm 1:1-6 (NKJV)

1 Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;

2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. 3 He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.

4 The ungodly are not so, But are like the chaff which the wind drives away.

5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

6 For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Psalm 92:12-15 (NKJV)

12 The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree, He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.

13 Those who are planted in the house of the LORD Shall flourish in the courts of our God.

14 They shall still bear fruit in old age; They shall be fresh and flourishing,

15 To declare that the LORD is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.

And as I said last week, this is not just for us, but for us and the generations that follow.

Isaiah 58:11-12 (NKJV)

11 The LORD will guide you continually, And satisfy your soul in drought, And strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.
