Summary: HOW TO GET BALANCE IN YOUR CHRISTIAN WALK

Due to the large amount of sermons and topics that appear on this site I feel it is necessary to post this disclaimer on all sermons posted. These sermons are original to the author and the leading of the Holy Spirit. While ideas and illustrations are often gleaned from many sources including those at Sermoncentral.com, any similarities and wording including sermon title, that may appear to be the same as any other sermon are purely coincidental. In instances where other minister’s wording is used, due recognition will be given. These sermons are not copyrighted and may be used or preached freely. May God richly bless you as you read these words. It is my sincere desire that all who read them may be enriched. All scriptures quoted in these sermons are copies and quoted from the Authorized King James Version of the Holy Bible.

Praise the LORD brothers and sisters in the mighty name of Jesus,

May God richly bless you as you read these words. It is my sincere desire that all who read them may be enriched. In my research for this sermon, I use statements from Pastor Jame May Sermon MY MIND’S MADE UP!

My Mind MADE UP!

James 1:8-9

By Clarence E. Weaver, Sr.

We are living in a world where there is no sure foundation outside of Christ. Surely the Word of God tells us that every thing that can be shaken will be shaken in these last days. The "every thing" that will be shaken includes our faith, if it is weak.Contributor by (Pastor James May)

I discovered a long time ago that a sure foundation in Christ is obtained only when we have a made up mind. Anyone who is committed, sold out, and centered upon the work of the Lord is sure to have a stronger foundation than those who can’t decide what they really want to do about Jesus. James 1:8, "A double minded man is unstable in all his ways."

Have you seen a lot of unstable people lately? Have you seen those who keep running like a hamster in a cage but they never really seem to go anywhere or finish anything? Are you one of those yourself?

Perhaps we have so many circumstances arise that draw us off the right track because we are carrying an unstable mind. Shall I go or stay, turn or go straight, listen or talk, stop or go? So many decisions and so little power to decide! No wonder we are a nation of schizophrenics! We have to have split personalities, one side of us to go in one direction while the other half goes the other direction. There is too much to do, too many places to go, so many plans to make.Contributor by (Pastor James May)

Do you have a mind of this world as a citizen or do you have a blood stain passport identifying you as a citizen of heaven?

1 John 2:15-17 2 (15)Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. (16) For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. (17) And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

Preoccupation’s that are wrong, pride, pleasures, possessions, popularity, power obsession, position oriented, people pleasing, and privilege for selfish reasons. These are some of the way that will cause us to become unstable.

Revelation 3:15-16 (15)I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. (16)So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

That man or woman who is double-minded will face the decisions to:

Study or watch TV

Go shopping or go to church

Pray or sleep

Read the Bible or read a magazine

Go to special services or lay at homeContributor by (Pastor James May)

What does the Bible say about our mind?

Here are just a few:

Philippians 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus

Romans 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy meditate on these things.

Colossians 3:2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
