Text: Psalm 119:129-136

Introduction

Are there things around you that just amaze you? In my limited mind there are so many things I just wonder about. For instance:

How can something that weighs several tons stay in the air for literally hours? I am talking about an airplane.

How can something as big as a city block stay afloat on the open sea? I’m speaking of an ocean liner.

I can remember the first time I went to a ballgame in the Astrodome, now closed down because it is obsolete. It was once called the 8th wonder of the world.

This section of the 199th psalm has as its major theme, the Wonderful Word of God.

· The Word of God conveys manifold blessings.

· It gives direction to those who will follow.

· For the Christian God’s Word is most wonderful.

· So, we should be faithful and meticulous in keeping its teachings.

As we continue to study through this psalm, in verses 129-130 we see the psalmists…

6. Many folks have no problem with saying the Word of God is wonderful but , hey, I’m not going to do everything it says I need to do.

Next the psalmist says it offers…
