Scripture: Romans 2:1-16

Denomination: Baptist

Summary: Judging only God has the right to.

“The Pharisee is always present in each one of us.” (Leenhardt)

No One Is Innocent:

1) Therefore, No one has the right to Judge Others!

Four Characteristics of the Self-Righteous Person:

He accuses others and excuses himself. Vs. 1

Question: How do we excuse our sin?

He measures other people by the wrong standard. Vs. 2

He thinks that judging others puts him in a better position. Vs. 3

Think—we consider or reason that we will escape the judgment.

He misinterprets God’s blessing on his life. Vs. 4

The purpose of God’s goodness and kindness is to lead you towards repentance!

Vs. 5“But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God’s wrath, when his righteous judgment will be revealed.” (NIV)

Question: Who was Jesus most upset with? Pharisees or Adulteress?

When is it Wrong to Judge:

Truth: Only God knows the motives of our heart!

2) Therefore, only God has the right to Judge Others!

Vs. 16 “This will take place on the day when God will judge men’s secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares.” (NIV)

Question: How will God judge people?

Three Truths of God’s Judgment—What we will be Judged for?

According to our Conduct! Vs. 6-10

According to our Conscious! Vs. 12-15

James 4:17 “Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn’t do it, sins.” (NIV)

According to our Character! Vs. 16

Question: How will you get past the final exam?

I'd encourage you to look more closely at the Scriptures in regard to judging: "Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye." (Matthew 7:1-5) Note that it never says not to cast out the mote from your brother's eye...as a matter of fact it says to do that. But first you must cast out the beam out of your own eye. The Scriptures indeed command Christians to judge (everyone makes judgement calls every day), yet Christians are to do so according to God's Word. The Scriptures say that all liars shall have their place in the lake of fire. If you clearly tell me a lie, I have Biblical authority to say that the fruit of your life is that of a sinner, not a saint. It doesn't mean it should be done without love or that we should be inspectors, examining every detail of another's life, but Biblical judgement is necessary and required, not prohibited.

Solomon what you are seeing is only my outline you are not seeing the whole picture. I would encourage you to look at the scriptures I have in the outline too. But if you would like my manuscript I would be happy to send it to you. But thank for your challenge.
