What Is The Word Of God? Series

Summary: What the Bible has to say about itself.
The Word of God is:
· Divinely inspired
“for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.” - 2 Peter 1:21
“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness” - 2 Timothy 3:16
· My spiritual weapon
“And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” - Ephesians 6:17
“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” - Hebrews 4:12
· Enduring
“The grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of our God stands forever.” - Isaiah 40:8
“Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.” - Matthew 24:35
· Spiritual food
“So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord” - Deuteronomy 8:3

· To be hidden in my heart

· To be obeyed
“Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. 8“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” - Joshua 1:7-8
