THE HOPE THAT COMES FROM GOD’S PRESENCE
Introduction:
Yesterday, I decided to do something that I have never done before- Shave my head bald. I actually did it for 2 reasons: I’m almost bald anyways, so I wanted to see what I would look like completely bald; and I did it as a sign of humbleness. Our text this morning, is an indictment against Israel for their unfaithfulness to God. This same indictment is applicable to us as Christians; but thank God, there is verses 16 and 17.
Jeremiah 3:16 (NIV)
“In those days, when your numbers have increased greatly in the land," declares the LORD, "men will no longer say, `The ark of the covenant of the LORD.' It will never enter their minds or be remembered; it will not be missed, nor will another one be made.

1. Being in God’s presence.
The Ark of the Covenant represented God’s presence and God was telling them that there would be a day that the Ark of the Covenant would not be necessary. The reason for that is Jesus. Through the blood of Jesus Christ, Christians can go into the presence of God anytime.
Jeremiah 3:17a (NIV)
“At that time they will call Jerusalem The Throne of the LORD, and all nations will gather in Jerusalem to honor the name of the LORD.”

2. Being in The New Jerusalem.
Revelation 21:2 says, “I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. I find great hope in knowing that this life isn’t all that there is. Christians will spend all of eternity with God in Heaven- The New Jerusalem.
Jeremiah 3:17b (NIV)
“No longer will they follow the stubbornness of their evil hearts.”

3. Being perfect.
Before each of you think that I have lost my mind, let me remind you that when you leave this Earth and go to Heaven that you will be perfect. Through Jesus, God already sees His children as perfect. When God looks at us, He sees the blood of Jesus on us and He sees perfection.
Conclusion:
Christians, you should desire to spend every moment of your life in the presence of God. Through the blood of Jesus, you can enter boldly into the Throne of God.
