Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread - Our Daily Portion Of Christ Series

Summary: In learning to pray, Jesus teaches us to ask for our Daily Bread. What does that really mean? Jesus said I am the BREAD of LIFE, and in the Last Supper, he takes the bread and breaks it saying, take, eat, this is my body given for you.

MESSAGE: LORD…teach us to pray. Give us today…Our Portion
THE LORD IS THE PORTION OF MINE INHERITANCE AND OF MY CUP
Psalm 16:5,7-9,11
1 Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.
5 The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.
7 I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons. 8 I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. 9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.
11 Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
GOD’s WORD is a GOD SWORD
Ephesians 6:17b …the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
LIVE BY WHAT COMES FROM THE MOUTH OF GOD. HIS WORD
Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
LIVE BY THE WORD OF GOD, NOT BY FOOD ALONE
Luke 4:4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
JESUS IS THE BREAD (FOOD, SUSTENANCE ) OF LIFE HERE ON EARTH AND LIFE ETERNAL
John 6:33 For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world.
John 6:35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.
John 6:48 I am that bread of life.
John 6:51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.
REMEMBERING JESUS AS THE BREAD OF LIFE. THIS IS HIS PROMISE, THAT WE WHO PARTAKE OF HIM WILL HAVE LIFE EVERLASTING.
Mark 14:22 And as they did eat, Jesus took bread, and blessed, and brake it, and gave to them, and said, Take, eat: this is my body.
Matthew 26:26 And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.
1 Corinthians 11:24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
GOD IS OUR PORTION, PUT YOUR WHOLE TRUST AND HOPE IN HIM
Lamentations 3:24 The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.

GIVE US THIS DAY OUR DAILY PORTION OF CHRIST
9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
1 And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.
2 And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.
3 Give us day by day our daily bread.
4 And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.

Psalms 73:26 My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.
Psalms 119:57 Thou art my portion, O LORD: I have said that I would keep thy words.
Psalms 142:5 I cried unto thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living.
JESUS IS OUR DAILY PORTION. SEEK HIM DAILY…PRAYING. IT’S A DAILY CHOICE TO WALK AND TO FOLLOW HIM
